Privacy Policy
What we store, what we never see, and who the product talks to.
The short version
The catalogs you export never reach us. The export runs entirely in your own browser, on your own machine, and the resulting file is saved locally. We do not collect, transmit or store the product data you export.
What we store, and why
| Data | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Your email address | To send you your licence key and to answer support requests | While your subscription is active, and afterwards only as needed for accounting |
| Your licence key and its activations | To check that a Pro subscription is active, and to enforce the three-installation limit. Each activation carries a random id we generate for that browser or device — it is not derived from anything about you or your machine, and it exists so that reloading a page re-uses the same installation slot instead of burning a new one | While your subscription is active |
| Waiting-list sign-ups | Only if you use the “Pro is on the way” form while Pro is not yet on sale. It sends which product you were looking at, roughly how many products the catalogue you had just loaded contained (a number, never the catalogue itself — and nothing at all when you sign up from the pricing page, where there is no catalogue), and your email address if you choose to type one. The email is optional; the form works without it | Until Pro launches and we have written to the list, or until you ask us to remove you |
| Your IP address, briefly | Our licensing service keeps a rate-limit counter per IP address, so one machine cannot flood the key-recovery email, the activation endpoint or the waiting list. What is stored is your address, which of those endpoints it was, and a number — not the key, the file, or anything you exported. The recovery form also counts attempts per email address, which means an address typed into it is written to that counter even if it never bought anything | Up to 48 hours. The counter covers one hour; the row itself is deleted the next time the service cleans up, which it does whenever a counter is reset |
That is the complete list. We do not build profiles, and we do not sell or share data with anyone for marketing.
Payments
Payments are processed by Paddle, who acts as the Merchant of Record. Paddle collects the details needed to take payment and to calculate tax. We never see or store your card details. Paddle handles that data as its own controller, under its own privacy policy.
Stored on your own device
If you buy Pro, your licence key is stored in your browser’s localStorage so
the product knows you are licensed. Alongside it we keep the random installation id described in
the table above, and your format and delimiter choices, so the tool opens the way you left it. All
three stay on your device. You can remove them at any time by clearing site data or by deactivating
the licence in settings.
Analytics and cookies
We do not use third-party analytics, advertising trackers, or tracking cookies. We do not embed fonts, scripts or images from other companies’ servers — with one exception: Paddle’s checkout script, which is loaded only on the pricing page, and only at the moment you choose to open checkout.
Who we talk to
- The store you are exporting from — your browser requests its public product data directly. This is a request you initiate.
- Our own licensing service — when you activate a licence key, when you ask us to resend a lost key, when you press the button on the waiting-list form described above, and when an already activated key is re-checked. That last one is the only call you do not press a button for: it happens at most once a week, only while you have one of our pages open, and it sends the key and its activation id, nothing else.
- Paddle — only when you go through checkout.
Nothing else. The catalogue you export is not on that list and never will be: it is read and written inside your browser, and there is no request anywhere in the product that sends it onwards.
Your rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to email us and we will respond. Deleting your data ends any active licence, since the licence key is the record.
